CONFERENCE SUPPORT GRANTS
GRANT APPLICATION - ONLINE APPLICATION

The online application form will collect only the key information for your application. Supporting details must be prepared in a document (MS Word, Excel or PDF) and uploaded when you complete the online form. Documents containing other relevant information can also be uploaded, but be aware that each application has a size limit of 500kb.

Before completing the on-line application form you will be asked to create an applicant account. This enables you to save applications in process and return later to complete and submit them. With an account you can also view earlier applications and grants and upload reports.

Here are some important points to guide you in preparing application documents.

1. The application document (excluding attachments) should have a maximum length of six (6) A4 pages, with text in font size 11 or above. The pages should be arranged as follows:
   
   
   • Page 1: Overview of the conference objectives and content in lay language, showing its relevance to (a) human health and (b) scientific knowledge;
     
   • Pages 2-5: Not more than four (4) pages detailing the planned keynote speakers, workshops and plenary sessions;
     
   • Page 6: Budget, including justification of requested items in order of priority and a note of other funding (available or being sought);
   
   
2. Referee opinions are not required, but supporting comments from a senior representative of the host institution/organisation should be included in an application for conference support.
   
   
3. Any other documents considered essential to a full understanding of the application may be uploaded at the applicant's discretion.
   
   
4. Online submission must include (a) agreement by applicant(s) that the decision of the Trust Board will be final and (b) confirmation of approval by the host institution. (N.B. Online applicants based in universities should be aware that paper copies of all applications must be lodged with the university research office before external research funding contracts can be finalised.)
