PROJECT AND EQUIPMENT GRANTS
GRANT APPLICATION - INTRODUCTION
General
The Trust Board may provide grants-in-aid to eligible applicants for the support of research projects in any field of relevance to human health, including the basic biomedical sciences. Such grants normally provide funds for up to one year only, although this period may be longer with special justification. (See also "Guidelines" page.)
Eligibility
Qualified research workers in health science fields in New Zealand are eligible to apply for project and equipment grants-in-aid from the Trust. Preference is given to graduates with a proven record of research productivity and access to suitable facilities for the research.
Senior graduate students are also eligible to apply, but applications are not accepted from Masters and first-year PhD students unless the circumstances are very exceptional.
Advice may be sought from the office of the Trust if there is a question as to the eligibility of a particular applicant or research proposal.
